What does a website cost in Switzerland?

What drives the price of a website for a Swiss SME, which running costs to expect, and what our Website Sprint from CHF 2’500 includes.

What drives the price

  • Number of pages. Every page needs structure, copy, design and testing. A one page site and a site with 30 pages are different projects.
  • Content. Good copy takes time. If you bring finished texts and photos, the project gets cheaper. If someone interviews you and writes every page, that is part of the price.
  • Design. A bought template is quick to set up. A design made for your brand takes longer, but it fits better and is easier to extend.
  • Features. A contact form is simple. Online booking, a shop, a customer login or connections to other software add work.
  • Languages. Many Swiss companies need German and French, sometimes Italian and English too. Every language adds copy, pages and checks.

Costs after launch

A website keeps costing a little after it goes live:

  • Domain: a .ch domain costs a small yearly fee.
  • Hosting: for a small, fast website this is free or a few francs per month, depending on the provider and the number of visitors.
  • Care: updates, new pages and small changes. Ask early how these are billed.

What to ask before you sign

  1. Is the price fixed, or billed by the hour?
  2. How many rounds of revisions are included?
  3. Who owns the code, the design files and the accounts at the end?
  4. What does a change cost after launch?
  5. Can our team edit texts and images on its own?

What our Website Sprint costs

Our Website Sprint starts at CHF 2’500, excluding VAT. It covers up to 6 pages, a design that works on every device, a contact form, 3 rounds of revisions, the SEO and GEO setup and Google Search Console. You receive a fixed offer before we start and pay once, at the end. As soon as the invoice is paid, we hand over the code, the design files and every account.

The first week after launch is included. After that, changes cost CHF 35 per hour, with a minimum of 1 hour per request. If you expect regular work, our Partnership for CHF 1’900 per month is usually better value.

Questions and answers

Is a template website cheaper?

At the start, usually yes. It can get more expensive later if the template does not fit your content and every change turns into a workaround.

Is VAT added on top?

Yes. Our prices are in Swiss francs, excluding VAT.

How long does a new website take?

A Website Sprint is usually live after about 3 weeks. Read how it runs in A new website in 3 weeks.
