Answer first
Start with 2 or 3 sentences that answer the main question completely. Details, reasons and exceptions come after. Every article on this blog starts with such a short answer.
Headings that sound like questions
"What does a website cost?" works better than "Our offer". People ask assistants in full sentences, and headings that match make the right passage easy to find.
Concrete beats clever
- Prices with currency and what they include
- Timelines in days or weeks
- The places you serve
- Steps as a numbered list
Show who is speaking
Name the author, show the date and link to your company details. An about page and an imprint help both people and machines trust what they read.
Keep it consistent
If your website says 3 weeks and a directory says 6, an assistant has to guess. Update older pages when something changes, and remove what is no longer true.
What does not help
Stuffing keywords, long lists of synonyms and texts written only for machines. They make a page worse for people, and that is who assistants try to serve. For the technical side, read structured data for small businesses.
Questions and answers
How long should a page be?
As long as the question needs. A short page that answers fully beats a long one that circles around the topic.
Can I write my texts with AI?
AI can help with drafts. The facts, examples and opinions have to come from you, because they are what makes a page worth quoting.
